Coober Pedy is the opal capital of the the world and home to one of the most unique courses on the planet. Crazy thing about this track: It’s the only course in the world with reciprocal rights to the home of golf, St. Andrews. We think Coober Pedy made a pretty sweet deal.

If golf and croquet had a baby, it’d be park golf. In this episode of Adventures In Golf, presented by United, we sent Erik Anders Lang to a small town outside Buffalo, New York, to try this unique version of golf. It originally started in Japan, but made its way to the United States by way of a pro wrestling icon Dick “The Destroyer” Beyer.

Proof you should never judge a golf course by its clubhouse. Kahuku is Erik Anders Lang’s next stop on Adventures In Golf, presented by United, where he plays a gorgeous 9-hole municipal golf course on a little island off the North Shore in Hawaii. The land on this course almost became the site of multi-million-dollar Hawaiian homes. Luckily, this tight-knit community wasn’t interested in selling out.

In his latest adventure, Erik travels to a place where finding shade is just as important as finding your ball. Adventures in Golf Season 3, presented by United, heads to the appropriately named Furnace Creek Golf Course in Death Valley, California. At 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level, Death Valley is home to the lowest elevation in North America, and some of the highest temperatures on earth, regularly reaching over 100 degree Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). With conditions like these, this golf experience is just as unique as the people that take part in it.

"You get a bunch of freedom-loving, freedom defenders that play golf together, you're asking for nothing but a great time." As the United States honors its veterans each November, Erik Anders Lang travels back to Hawaii for a special military edition of Adventures In Golf.

Adventures in Golf, presented by United, heads back to Australia for possibly the most unique and daunting challenge yet. Erik Anders Lang takes on the Nullarbor Links, which is the longest golf course in the world. The 18-hole par 72 golf course spans 1,365 kilometres with one hole in each participating town or roadhouse along the Eyre Highway, from Kalgoorlie in Western Australia to Ceduna in South Australia.

In Iceland with 24 hours of sunlight, there are a lot more chances to tee it up for Erik Anders Lang. Each year, golfers from all over the world travel to Akureyri Golf Club for a game of midnight golf. Set in beautiful northern Iceland, the Arctic Open is a tradition that takes full advantage of the perpetual sunlight during the summer months.

The historic Belvedere Golf Club in Charlevoix, Michigan has welcomed the footsteps of golf legends like Bobby Jones, Walter Hagen, Sam Snead, and other all-time greats. It's now the site of the Hickory Open, a marquee Hickory Golf tournament where Erik will attempt to etch his own name in golf history. Hickory golf is a variation of golf played with hickory shafted golf clubs produced prior to 1935. There's no titanium allowed, but Brassies, Spoons, Bulldogs, Jiggers, Cleeks, Niblicks, & Mashies are all fair game.

Rural Japan is home to Katsuhiro Miura, who's also referred to as Hands of God. Miura has built a reputation as one of the finest golf iron forgers in the world, and some rumor he was the maker of the clubs Tiger Woods used during his best years. In this adventure, Erik takes part in a one-of-kind iron fitting session and factory tour from Miura himself, while learning exactly what sets them apart.
