Autour du village de Tafedna, on cultive l’arganier, un arbre épineux particulièrement adapté à l'aridité de cette région du sud-ouest marocain. L'huile d'argan, extraite de ses graines, entre dans la composition de délicieux plats typiques de la région : tajine à la viande de chèvre, brochettes de foie, couscous ou encore salade d'aubergines.
Halima Errachidi, qui dirige l’une des nombreuses coopératives de femmes dédiées à la culture de l’arganier, utilise également l’huile pour confectionner des produits cosmétiques très appréciés.
