Breaking Point

Shots are fired in the Sunshine City shopping center. It's pure coincidence that those people are here. For one of them, a long-simmering insult leads to a violent outburst. Five days earlier. Georg works as a security man in the "Sunshine City". He is ready to do anything for the love of Eva, who has become blind after an accident. He is applying to be a team leader. But too many situations escalate and destroy his hopes.

There's a lot at stake in Mira's job. But her boss, with whom she is having an affair, threatens to betray her. She really wants to close the deal for the product she developed and move up in the company. But her boss Richard wants to claim success for himself. What's more, her unwanted past is catching up with her.

Doctor Sarah is at her wits' end. She struggles between caring for her children and her work. On top of that, the bank is breathing down her neck because of outstanding loan installments, and her ex-husband Erik has once again failed to pay her maintenance payments. Sarah feels like she is failing on every level.

Ingeborg is looking forward to moving to Japan. But the hoped-for reconciliation with her daughter Mira opens up old wounds. Before Ingeborg starts a new life with her new love Wilhelm in Tokyo, she wants to get closer to Mira again. But the rapprochement between mother and daughter ends in an argument because Mira is convinced that Ingeborg has fallen for a fraudster.

Lorenz is newly in love and happy. But then everything goes wrong and his criminal past catches up with him. Lorenz is only on cloud nine for a moment, then he realizes that the money case with the daily takings from the café is no longer in his backpack. Panic grips him. Can he hold back his aggression or will he relapse again?

The “Sunshine City” is full of people on the day the shots are fired. But who is hurt so deeply that he or she takes up arms and becomes a perpetrator? There are reports in the media that at least three people were killed. Georg, Mira, Sarah, Ingeborg and Lorenz, all of them and many more are in the shopping center when the terrible thing happens. But who is the victim and who is the perpetrator?
