Watt joins the school newspaper and is excited to write his first article. He's assigned to interview Principal Looseleaf and decides to exaggerate some details to create a more exciting story.

Watt, Windy and Frank get a bird's eye view of City Island on an aerial tour led by Chopper the Helicopter. They fly by a plethora of landmarks, including a tenement building, the Empire Island Building, and even the Brickland Bridge.

Watt's class goes on a field trip to the cultural center of City Island, Theater Street. There, they meet world famous producer Bill Le Play, who leads a show-stopping song about the many people it takes to make a play.

Watt and his friends attend a ballet class taught by the legendary Slipper Sisters. Lacey Rollerskate is unable to perform some of the dance moves because she has wheels.

Watt gets a class assignment to make a family tree and doesn't know where to start. Luckily, this weekend is the Light family reunion. Watt circulates the party and takes careful notes on how he's related to everyone.

After seeing a movie about a scary looking future, Watt and Windy wonder what City Island will look like someday. To help, Frank takes them on a bike ride to show what the city is currently doing to insure a better future.

When world famous pop star Venus Flytrap visits City Island on her world tour, Watt must choose between attending the concert or movie night with his dad.

When Watt and Windy learn that their new favorite show, Speedy Sneakers, is actually just an advertisement for sneakers, Frank suggests they travel to Sign Square and visit the Speedy store in person. After seeing many kinds of ads, they meet Speedy himself, who admits that he's been trying to sell them sneakers the whole time. Watt and Windy decide not to buy the shoes and head home, noticing advertisements as they go.

When Watt bumps his bulb while playing at the park, Frank takes him on his first trip to the hospital. Watt is nervous at first, but the doctors and nurses comfort him as he goes through all the stages of treatment.

Watt's class visits Maker Hill, the industrial neighborhood of City Island where goods are made. At first, Watt thinks wizards make all the goods. But he soon learns that it's professional workers who make the magic happen.

The City Island Elementary Movie Making Club gets a visit from world-famous Movieville director David Lunch. With his help, Watt and his friends set out to make movies about their lives. While Watt is initially hesitant to share a personal story, David Lunch teaches him how he can express his feelings through art.

When Watt accidentally throws away his dad's special pen, they travel to the City Island Waste Management Center to track it down. There, they find Detritus in charge of the whole operation. He takes them on a tour of the facility, where they learn all the stages of processing the city's waste. In the end, Watt realizes the missing pen was in his pocket all along.

When Watt accidentally rips the cape of his Superbulb action figure, he goes shopping with Frank and Windy in search of a new one. Along the way, he learns about many different types of stores, including grocery stores, hardware stores, and department stores. At last, Watt finds a new cape and returns home with a new appreciation for the kinds of stores and what they sell.

Today is City-Henge, the day when the sunset lines up perfectly with Main Street. And this year, Windy's family is providing all the clouds. Windy brings Watt to her family farm to show him the entire process of cloud production from beginning to end. After learning how clouds are grown, cleaned, dyed, and transported, Watt and Windy join the rest of City Island to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Watt, Mark, and Windy join Ms. Webster's computer club, where they learn that the internet is a network of computers that connects people and information. Eager to find out more, they write an email to Watt's uncle and jump inside the computer to see where it goes. The group explores the internet and soon discovers that it is made up of many routers that help the message reach its destination.

When a detour blocks Watt, Windy and Mark on their way to Swimmy Island Water Park, they need to find a new route. With the help of Geo the digital map, the friends find their way and are ready for fun in the sun.

When Lidia sends a kickball flying into a haunted shed at the far corner of the playground, Watt and his friends set out to determine whether it's really haunted. Their investigation leads them all around the playground as they interview sources and gather the facts. Ultimately, they discover that the shed is not haunted and learn the importance of investigating a claim.

While on a ferry tour, Watt's grandfather Edison recounts his life story and how he immigrated to City Island. His life appears in flashback as he describes how he moved to City Island from another country, grew up, went to college, and met his wife, Candle. The flashback ends as the family arrives at Torchy, the Welcoming Statue, who smiles and waves at her old friend Edison.

It's Swap Day at City Island Elementary, where students trade their unwanted belongings. Watt really wants a Dusty Buster helmet, but its owner, Boxter, doesn't want to trade him for his comic book. With help from Mark, Watt learns that items hold different amounts of value for different people and completes a series of trades to obtain the helmet.

Watt can't wait for Sparkle Day -- it's his favorite holiday of the whole year. But when he finds out that Windy celebrates a different holiday, Cold Breeze Day, he doesn't know what kind of present to give her. Frank and Watt head to the City Island Holiday Fair to get some ideas, where they learn about many different winter holidays and how they are celebrated.
