The beguines, knowing that Lasarte will do everything possible to bring them before the Inquisition Tribunal, decide to escape with the help of Gabriela and Gonzalo. A farewell in which Gonzalo witnesses the kiss between his mother and the Great Lady. The freed women are interrogated by the Holy Office, unaware that Gonzalo is their greatest enemy. No matter how much Marie Anne insists on being singled out and thus saving the rest, the Beguines are unwilling to give in. Neither is Lucía, who faces Telmo's rejection by getting the baker to confess his relationship with Rodrigo.
