The Lin-Wu bridal party is blocked by a group celebrating Scholar Han getting an award as First Place Scholar. Lin Jin Qi appeals to Scholar Han to make way, as a smooth bridal procession makes for a smooth marriage. The wedding goes on as expected until the bride has reluctance to bow to her groom. In the bridal chamber, as soon as the veil is lifted, Lan Xiang slaps her new husband, who commands the crowd to leave and keep the incident quiet.
