Markus Kofler is supposed to be the best man for his childhood friend Stefan. But first, he has to rescue Stefan and his bride Sofia. A rockfall has trapped them on the mountain. But the rescue is only the beginning of another catastrophe. On their way back, the couple and Markus pass an abandoned cabin, and Sofia recognizes it from her dreams: it's where her father died 20 years ago under circumstances that were never explained. Because Sofia can't find peace, Markus contacts Alex and Gert for her, who make a shocking discovery in the police archives. And Stefan, suddenly confronted with long-suppressed memories, also starts investigating—and calls off the wedding. It's not just his friend's fate that weighs heavily on Markus; his strained relationship with Mia is also putting a great strain on him.
