Isle of Man TT (Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, Tourist Trophy) - motorcycle races that take place annually on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea for many years considered the most prestigious motorcycle races in the world. Isle of Man TT was one of the stages of the World Championship ring-road motorcycle races from 1949 to 1976. Because of the extreme danger of the route after the 1976 phase was transferred to the UK, in 1977 there took place Moto Grand Prix of Great Britain under the control of the International Motorcycle Federation. In order to maintain its status as the race Isle of Man TT have become part of the Formula 1 TT Championship from 1977 to 1990. Since 1989, they are held under the control of the Isle of Man Department of Tourism as a festival Isle of Man TT.
