Max Schautzer has shaped German television for several decades. The quiz "Alles oder nichts?" or the home video show "Pleiten, Pech und Pannen" became TV classics. His farewell to television was rather in anger: ARD dismissed him as moderator of "Immer wieder sonntags" to make him younger. The attempt to found his own TV station for the older generation failed.
