The Battles for the Rzhev Salient or "the Red Army's forgotten 15 month campaign against Army Group Center" lasted from January 1942 to March 1943, in total there were 4 major Soviet Offensive Operations. Additionally, the Germans conducted serveral minor Operations themselves to stabilize the defense, e.g., Hannover I & II and Seydlitz.
