It’s the first week of the comedy workshop. We are introduced to three different groups of students in prison: women, men, and LGBT+. Comedian Sofía Niño de Rivera is nervous, and so are the inmates, as they take their first crack at comedy. While we learn about the stand-up basics and set goals, we witness a male friendship that has helped two inmates survive behind bars.
