It's party time at La Madrague. Brigitte dances, rediscovers a little joie de vivre, and even Jacques sulking and the crying baby won't spoil the evening for her. She focuses on the preparation of "The Truth", the choice of her future partner and her ambiguous relationship with the poisonous director. Jacques, in full depression, goes back and forth to the clinic, the filming is painful. Only Alain, her confidant and dedicated secretary, comforts her and shares her moments of solitude. Clouzot uses Brigitte's fractures, he is tough and cynical. His acting direction, sometimes even accompanied by physical violence, is borderline unbearable. The young Sami Frey remains locked in silence. But this indifference hides feelings that upset him...
