Born in 1988 in Quebec, Béatrice Martin started learning the piano at the age of three. When she was 14 years old the young girl gave up the piano during her adolescent crisis. She felt the instrument was too "bourgeois" and conventional and turned to writing her own songs reflecting on her adolescent worries, frustrations and rage which were typical of that time in life.
