In the night of November 18 to 19, 1421, Holland was hit by the Saint Elisabeth flood. The dikes broke as a result of a combination of a heavy storm and high tide. The area around Dordrecht was hit hard. Dordrecht itself was spared, because the city was high enough. The floods created the De Biesbosch nature reserve. André and Janny visit Dordrecht, make their own liqueur, go on a beaver safari, marvel at the craziest lock they have sailed through so far and end their journey on an idyllic river.
