While having lunch at La Table de Pierre, a great restaurant in Bordeaux, the food critic Julie Decker collapsed, struck down by hemlock poisoning. Is she the victim of Lelandais, the chef of the restaurant who has never forgiven her for the star he has lost? Did she suffer the wrath of a brotherhood of leaders who had banded together against the methods of criticism?
