Alison and Frank are empty nesters who want more time for leisure and less time spent managing their large oceanfront property. Frank admits it’s a bit of a burden, but he doesn’t want to leave the family home. After 25 years of maintaining such a huge house, Alison wants a home that’s just for her and Frank, where they will spend less time working and more time having fun. While Jillian can’t make their 5000 square foot home any smaller or anticipate what she might find behind those old walls, she can make it more elegant and efficient to convince Alison there’s no place like home, while Todd goes to great lengths--and heights--to show Frank the upside to downsizing with a brand new home.
