Amanda leads the group as they run the Upper Klamath River for the second day. Breaking through the Bermuda Triangle and barely escaping the deadly clutches of the Dragon, the students make their way through Hell's Corner.

Emotions reach a breaking point as the strain of expedition travel starts to take its toll on the students. Linsey is the head boatman and must guide the group down the Scott River as they face off against their leader, each other, and themselves.

The increasing difficulty of the water on the Scott River has both damaging and healing effects. While some students are facing defeat at the hands of these powerful rivers, Chuck, today's head boatman, is finding strength and purpose.

Students must escape the jaws of one of the biggest holes, on any river they will run; the Cal-Salmon is at a record high; the river has been changed by bulging flows and fear paralyzes the students; the group rebels against head boatman, Guy.

The second day on the Cal-Salmon. The students, under the leadership of Marie, are guiding themselves through the Gaping Maw and beyond, to the even larger Iakes. Swimming in these icy waters will be inevitable and pain is a certainty.
