The concept is actually untranslatable, because 'coming of age' does not cover the load. In film history it stands for so much more, about growing up in the broadest sense of the word.

Sports are an ideal vehicle for filmmakers. “What you don't want as a director is static things and sport moves anyway,” says Martin Koolhoven. 'Sport has drama in itself and can be used very well as a metaphor for life.'
