Chad built his own notebook PC by installing a processor, graphics chip, RAM, HD and wireless card into a barebones system for. (Total cost for the 2.14 GHz Core 2 Duo system? $2200.) Chad adds "the downside to all this - zero warranty options other than for the individual components.

An alternative Open DNS Internet? You're looking for OpenDNS, Stephen. Some folks find it helps speed up their net access, some don't. It does a pretty good job directing you to the right page when you type in a URL, and it can protect you from phishing sites (and adult sites) if you set it up that way. It's safe to experiment with.
