Ganesha promises Parvati that he will get her a new comb. Dashanan asks for a boon of not getting killed by the deities from Lord Brahma. Vibhishan asks for a boon to focus on devotion, whereas Kumbhakarna asks for a boon of deep sleep. Kartikey makes a comb, but Ganesha disapproves of it. He asks Nandi to make a comb. Nandi informs him about Vishwakarma. Vishwakarma tells Ganesha that he is not eligible to make a comb for Parvati. Ganesha requests Mahadev to make a comb for Parvati.
