Southern Rock was a marriage of historical, cultural, and musical forces. It was a reflection of the values and culture of the American South. It was mix of Rock and Roll, with Blues, Country, Boogie-woogie, fast-paced guitars. Lyrics really talk about a celebration of maybe a slower way of living, and family values, but also, the excesses of young adults in the Southern States.
