The FireKeepers Casino 400 marks the 104th race hosted by Michigan International Speedway in Cup Series history. The 2-mile oval located in Brooklyn, Michigan is the closest track to the “Motor City”, Detroit. This generates extra pressure for teams to preform well for their respective manufacturer. The track first opened in 1969, the Cup Series held its inaugural race in 1969 with Cale Yarborough winning.
