Hosted by Grant Denyer and Chrissie Swan, together with word pronouncer Chris Edmund, The Great Australian Spelling Bee showcases some of Australia’s brightest young spellers. With all new games and special themed nights, this year 36 spellers aged between eight and 13 will compete in a series of fun, word-related games and challenges. To advance through each round of the competition, the spellers must display a combination of speed, skill and smarts in order to deconstruct words that many have never even heard of, let alone spelt. It is the ultimate showdown between LITTLE KIDS and BIG WORDS. The Great Australian Spelling Bee is nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat family entertainment in which viewers will be amazed by the intellect and ingenuity of these young spellers.
