For a year I was able to follow the French president on his travels to the dictatorships of the Caucasus region and Azerbaijan. I wanted to find out how he was going to broach the issue of human rights. My filming in Bakou ended badly when I was thrown out manu militari by plane after having myself broached the subject during the trip.
