Despite allowing the Flyers to score the first two goals of the game, the Rangers rallied by scoring the final three, including two by Mike Rupp, to take the 2012 Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia by the score 3-2.
Brad Richards scored the game-winner at the 5:21 mark in the third, but the rest of the game wasn't without drama as the Flyers had a chance to tie in the final minute with a penalty shot, which was awarded when Ryan McDonagh covered the puck in the crease.
Flyers center Danny Briere took the shot and tried to go between Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist's legs, but he was denied. With just 19.6 seconds left on the clock, the Rangers survived Philly's final flurry to win the game.
