Episode one opens a few years before MARTY JOHNSTONE'S wildly amoral criminal journey begins. We also meet BEN CHARLTON, the policeman who provides the canvas on which later events are to be painted.

While Ben is temporarily assigned to the Mona Blades disappearance/murder, Marty flaunts his bail conditions and flies to Europe with Andy, where they set up the smuggling of 75000 LSD tabs.

While the local boat runs and pick-ups continue, with bales sometimes going missing and helicopters chasing speedboats, Marty and Peter prepare for their blue-water enterprise with the Brigadoon.

Marty and Bonnie consult with decorators doing a major refit; and Marty's cocaine habit is growing.

Recovering from the Konpira Maru disaster, Marty tries to clean himself up in order to get back on top.

JULIE HUE delivers the cash that MARTY made from conning Freddie and then contacts PIAK to buy him Buddah sticks.
