Church cleaner Beryl Salt, who , dies from a poisoned drink after Felix and Victoria's wedding rehearsal. Sister Boniface determines Salt only died from the weed killer because she had a heart condition. It dawns that bride Victoria was the intended victim. Sister Boniface and Sam also find what is ultimately identified as Bermudan beach sea glass, coated with a slimy substance, pointing them to investigate the guests from Bermuda. Each guest turns out to have a reason to oppose or at least delay the wedding - Victoria's mother Morgana who aspired a local groom, Victoria's brother Gabriel who is wrecking the family firm, Felix's father Jacob Livingstone, and Victoria's best friend and fellow nurse back in Bermuda, Lily Albright, bridesmaid with Peggy.
