The Price

Things are going well between lawyer Keisuke Okuyama and his girlfriend Makoto. But a letter from Tatsuya Ando asking him for defense in a murder-robbery brings Keisuke’s dark past back to life.

Keisuke says he will defend Tatsuya, but fakes evidence in an attempt to ensure that he is convicted. Hisato, a middle-school friend, appears. He is now a journalist following Tatsuya’s story.

Keisuke’s attempt to fake evidence fails. Supposedly providing Tatsuya with an alibi, Sayumi gives evidence that throws his trial into an uproar. Disgraced, Keisuke now comes under suspicion himself.

As Tatsuya had planned, Keisuke resigns. Now he is accused of having raped a middle-school friend, Mika. He is stunned when Hisato finds that Mika and Sayumi were related. Disaster visits Makoto.

Sayumi joins Keisuke and Hisato; Keisuke tells Makoto that Tatsuya was behind her father’s death. Evidence emerges that Tatsuya was behind the death of Kadota, who had threatened to reveal his past.

Keisuke is wanted for the attempted murder of Hisato. Tatsuya plans to eliminate both his own mother and Keisuke’s adoptive father. Keisuke and Tatsuya confront each other in a dramatic finale.
