The Great Food Race

The premiere of this competition series sees four teams of two compete for the chance to travel the length of NZ, and ultimately the world, to showcase their cooking skills.

The race continues in Christchurch, Dunedin, Auckland and Wellington, where four teams of two will cook, in their own homes, for each other and for renowned restaurateurs Leonardo and Lorenzo Bresolin.

Six remaining teams continue the race around Central Otago. They'll be battling the clock - and each other - as collect ingredients for an al fresco meal that will need to wow the judges.

Two teams take on Canterbury where they’ll get down and dirty on the farm, butcher their own meat, bake their own bread and ultimately prepare a meal for the judges.

Two teams travel to the centre of New Zealand for a unique taste test; hawk their wares at the local farmer's market; and prepare tapas in the great outdoors.

In Napier, two teams race against each other to prepare a visual feast. They start at lofty heights, and collect ingredients in order to prepare a meal that is easy on the eye.

The teams swim with sharks and cook on a budget for a big crowd as they race against each other in a three team cook off. Two teams will succumb, but only one will survive.

The teams embark on the adventure of a lifetime, when they take their cooking skills to one of the most exciting cities in the world. Which international destination are they off to?

The teams undergo a crash course in cooking like locals. Can they grasp the basics quickly enough to win over the judges with their new-found skills?

The teams are challenged when they have to prepare meals Kiwi style in a foreign city. Can they enlist the help of locals to showcase their Kiwi classics?

It's elimination time! The four teams face a three-tiered culinary marathon that will spell the end of one team's hopes of becoming the first ever winner of The Great Food Race.

Three teams battle it the semi-finals. The teams must navigate their way through farmland, mudflats, and beehives, and then prepare the ultimate feast.

The series finale sees the teams embark on their final challenges to produce the best meals they've ever cooked.
