The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes

Bob Ferguson is the new customer of Holmes, already known to Dr. Watson for his past as a rugby player. In the Ferguson house things are not going very well, the new lady, of Peruvian origin, has been seen twice to assault the little Jack, son of Bob's first wife and try to bite their little son on the neck. The answer can only be one: it is about vampirism. But Holmes certainly does not let himself be duped by such beliefs and fantasies; the problem certainly exists but it is certainly of earthly origin. An interesting chat with little Jack unfortunately will unveil a sad truth.

A young and rich nobleman, Lord Robert St Simon, hires Holmes for an apparently inexplicable case. During the wedding banquet, Henriette Doran, who has just married, has mysteriously disappeared. She escaped? Rapita? The clues are few and tenuous and Scotland Yard gropes in the dark. But Holmes's specialty is precisely that of relying on elements that can appear to be absolutely insignificant to others: and the exorbitant price of a glass of sherry is the key element on which the investigator will base his chain of deductions. Holmes will be able to solve the dark mystery that lies behind an event considered trivial from the point of view of the criminologist, but what he will discover will not like much to Lord St Simon…
