The look that comes from within

Maria Carla is an 11-year-old girl who lives on the outskirts of Recife. It is part of the Jurema Sagrada, a religion that has indigenous origins in Northeastern Brazil, and is influenced by African matrices and popular Catholicism. The jurema is a caatinga and wild tree, the bark of which is used to make a magic drink that gives strength, wisdom and contact with beings from the spirit world.

The boy Thalisson is part of a religion of African origin. It shows the diversity, history and beauty of the Orixás cult.

Letícia Carvalho is a 9-year-old Mormon girl who attends the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, known as the Mormon Church.

João Pedro is 11 years old and is part of Kadampa Buddhism. John explains how he became a Buddhist by choice and not by the influence of his parents. He is a devotee of the Green Tara Buddha, a female Buddha who manifests supreme wisdom and is known to be the Holy Mother, protector of immediate and important dangers during spiritual growth.

Melissa is 10 years old and Jewish and lives in São Paulo. She is the granddaughter of refugees from World War II. She and her mother show the customs regarding food, education and rituals of faith.

In the Community Fortaleza, in the municipality of Capixaba, which is in Acre, the boy João Noé lives, at the age of 12, he is already a guardian of the forest. She loves and cares for nature. João is a practitioner of Santo Daime, a Christian doctrine with indigenous, Catholic and African influence, received and built by Mestre Raimundo Irineu Serra.

The Blue Mountain Ark is a religion that worships several gods and uses ayahuasca tea, a drink made with Amazonian herbs. Maria Luz lives in Cabo Frio, in Rio de Janeiro, and is part of the Ark along with her family. This religion proposes communion between people in search of self-knowledge and peace.

Kathellyn lives in Rio de Janeiro, she and her family are part of Candomblé. Kathellyn introduces all the Orixás at the beginning of the episode, and during it she presents the shed she frequents. She also talks about how she feels there, in addition to the customs and rituals of her religion. Candomblé is an African religion derived from animism, being one of the main targets of religious intolerance in the country.

Haridas is a boy practicing Vaishnava Hinduism (Hare Krishna). He lives in the interior of São Paulo, in Pindamonhangaba, in Nova Gokula. The Vaishnava tradition began more than 5,000 years ago and preaches respect for all living beings and is not attached to material goods. Haridas and his family share Krishna's teachings and show his rituals and customs that are passed down from generation to generation.

Yara is a young Muslim practitioner of Islam. She and her family came to Brazil, refugees from the war in Syria. Yara presents her daily life in São Paulo and tells how she maintains Islamic traditions in this new context of life.

Ballet is the life of Caline Teodoro, a dancer since she was a child and her mother runs a ballet school in Rio Branco, Acre. Caline is an evangelical and attends the Casa da Benção - Church of the Family. Through dance she reinforces her faith in God. The dancer shares her dreams in this episode and presents her routine and that of her family.

Davih and his family are Catholics, his father is a deacon and he is an altar boy. Davih attends with his family a Catholic community in the Cidade do Povo neighborhood, in Rio Branco / AC. The episode shows the Holy Week ritual, a tradition of the Catholic nun who celebrates the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Buni Huni Kuni is 8 years old, from the Huni Kuin indigenous people, came from the forest to live in the city of Rio Branco (AC) to study. It is part of the Huwã Karu Yuxibu Center created to encourage the strengthening of Huni Kuin culture in the city. Buni reports the feeling of sadness that they are destroying the forest and narrates the differences in their life in the city and in their indigenous community.
