Police sergeant Amy Rodriguez, fights to get her husband out of prison and keep custody of their troublesome son Matt, when she discovers that he has the ability to communicate with the dead, but... will this ability work against him or for him?

David Salgado painfully remembers the death of his wife Caroline, and this forces him to leave behind part of his obligations in the race for state governorship. On the recommendation of his psychologist, Matt must stop visiting his father.

Amy is supernaturally attacked and discovers that the blows received are identical to those suffered by Caroline in the accident that caused her death. Also, James is threatened and attacked again, but this time, his life will be at risk.

David Salgado sets out to help Amy, reopening James' case, but finds irrefutable evidence of his guilt. Through a supernatural vision, Amy discovers that James might be involved in Caroline's death.

Amy and David are about to make love, much to Caroline's anger, who causes a fire at Amy's house. She and David manage to keep Matt from harm, but Beth uses this to her advantage to fight for custody of Matt.

Amy tells the police where the evidence is that James killed Caroline, but refuses to say how she knew, and is accused of being an accessory to her husband. As if this were not enough, Beth manages to take custody of Matt from her.

Matt and Sam, tired by their tragic life, decide to carry out their plan and take advantage of a conference by David to do so; however, the situation gets out of control and an innocent life will be claimed by fate.

After a fight in jail, James manages to unmask the culprits in the migrant case, giving Longoria evidence. In turn, Caroline tries to show Amy who is really to blame for her death.
