Ladynin’s son blames his father for his mother’s death and moves to live in his grandmother. An article was published in the regional newspaper accusing Ladynina of the death of a patient. Ilya knows that the operation was successful, and goes to the police to claim the contract killing. They do not believe him there, because, according to the hospital, the man died a natural death. However, Ladynin does not believe the information provided and is trying to figure out who killed his patient.

In a state of emergency hospital: a patient from the VIP chamber jumped out of a window right in front of Ladynin. The investigator considers his act a suicide because of unhappy love, but Ilya has little doubt that this is a murder. Why did a person with an absolutely healthy heart lie on an examination in a hospital under a false name, and then suddenly commit suicide !? Ladynin watches his wife’s cardiogram: she didn’t have a heart attack.

Ladynin finds out that the man who delivered his wife a couple of days before his death was her boss. He insists on meeting with Ilya. Having analyzed the diary of Ladynin’s wife, Olga comes to the conclusion that it consists of glued texts taken from various sources, and a person who intends to commit suicide would not have written. After the collision of a motorcycle and a passenger car, participants in an accident arrive in the hospital. The biker is the son of the main investor of a medical institution. According to doctors, the condition of the young man is stable, however, the father who arrived at the hospital finds him in the ward with no signs of life. The man is sure - his son was killed, but categorically refuses to call the police. Ladynin will find the killer of a motorcyclist.

Ladynin comes to an unexpected conclusion: his wife's diary was written after her death. So, she is not its author. So who then tries to convince Ilya that his wife committed suicide !? In the hospital, one of the patients flatly refuses to take medicine, informing everyone around that in this place all patients die after treatment. Nobody pays attention to the words of an elderly man, since all the dead were old, and their death was due to a bouquet of age-related diseases. But the same old man dies and an autopsy shows: there are signs of drug poisoning.

Ladynin and the investigator are studying the list found on the computer of Ilya’s wife. Ilya suggests that his wife found out that the drugs were deadly, and reported this to her boss Shevtsov, who killed her. But this is just speculation, there is no evidence. To find out the truth, Ladynin decides to go to Shevtsov, but the investigator intercepts him.

A former patient of the hospital was found dead at home. The investigator is sure that there is a clear suicide: the man recently lost his wife and child ... However, the meticulous Ladynin assumes that he was "helped" to jump out of the window, because they and Ilya agreed on a meeting at which the man had to pass documents to Ladynin. Ladynin is convinced that the murder was committed precisely because of these papers, which were not in the apartment. Meanwhile, the situation in the hospital is getting tense ...
