On the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, Officer Chris Johnson has to save an injured bald eagle that won't survive in the wild. Meanwhile, on the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, biologist Bill Leacock heads into the heart of bear country.

Continuing their research, Bill and Dustin have to recover critical bear data before a storm strands them in Kodiak bear country. On the Kenai Refuge, Chris tracks down an illegal trapper, and two young interns begin the opportunity of a lifetime.

As fishing season begins, Rob searches for missing passengers from an overturned boat on the Kenai; Bill tries to locate a beloved but elusive wild bear; intern Laura gets hands-on experience with the infamous migrating salmon.

While Bill and Dustin get close to a sow and three cubs at a fish weir, Dom races daylight on a long hike deep into the Chugash to find out what happened to one of his collared goats. Biology interns help band Alaska songbirds before the migration.

Rob puts his beloved K-9 partner to the test, while Officer Chris tackles the start of fishing season. Dom works closely with moose to study how warmer temps are impacting the iconic species.

Rob gives his K-9, Rex, a training test that could determine the fate of their partnership. Laura battles the ups and downs of a bush plane aerial survey. Amber heads to Kodiak for her first bear experience.

Chris Johnson patrols Tustumena Lake and faces glacial winds in Devil’s Bay. Bill, Amber and Dustin hike deep into bear country and come dangerously close to several Kodiak bears. Laura and Todd discover a huge dip in the snowshoe hare population.

Chris rescues a sick eagle that's been dumpster diving at a local landfill. Laura investigates why an entire boreal forest has disappeared and transformed into grasslands in only 20 years. The Kodiak team gets up close to feeding bears.

On a research expedition, Bill and Dustin find themselves surrounded by Kodiak bears; Dom places tracking collars on mountain goats; John and the interns work to eradicate an invasive plant that threatens Alaska’s waterways.

Chris investigates a bear attack; Rob patrols the dangerous and remote outskirts of the refuge; Bill and Dustin observe bears one last time before closing their cabin for the season.
