Historic Farms

Fazenda União, owned by Domingos Custódio Guimarães, Visconde do Ouro Preto, is a landmark of the Brazilian coffee cycle. Built in 1836, it was used as a landing place for travelers and, three centuries later, it functions as a luxury hotel.

The Vista Alegre farm, located in Valença-RJ, is one of the most important in the 19th century because it belonged to Viscount de Pimentel, a nobleman who became famous in the coffee valley for his connection with culture. Its architectural forms emerge in harmony with its beautiful gardens.

Located in the city of Vassouras - RJ, it was founded by Barão de Vassouras in 1820, one of the most important figures in Imperial Brazil.

Located in the municipality of Santa Rita de Jacutinga-MG, it is known for being the second largest slave farm in Brazil, which had 6,000 m², 365 windows, 52 rooms and 12 corridors, and a slave quarters and dungeon. The farm was used as the setting for the television series "Abolição", aired in 1988, and for the soap opera "Terra Nostra", shown in 1999.

Located in the municipality of Bananal-SP, it was built at the end of the 18th century, the farm produced sugarcane, anise, corn and other subsistence crops. It even belonged to Barão da Joatinga. Fazenda Loanda had its heyday in the 19th century, due to the great wealth brought by coffee, then, around 1850, they underwent a major renovation in the mansion, introducing elements of Neoclassical Architecture that was the fashion in Europe.

Fazenda Boa Vista, Municipality of Andrelândia, MG, 19 km away from the city. The farm was founded by the Baron of Cajuru. The resort's production base is dairy farming and subsistence agriculture, a tradition in the region.

Located in Itatiba-SP, it is a farm dating from 1868, represented by the coffee season, by its magnitude and importance in the region.

Farm originated from the junction of two farms, "São Luiz" and "Boa Sorte", located in the municipality of Vassouras-RJ in Vale do Café.

Founded in 1806 by brigadier Manoel Rodrigues Jordão, considered the greatest wealth in São Paulo due to the "Palácio dos Quatro Cantos", the largest residence in the city at the time. He became the owner of the city that soon earned the name Campos do Jordão (SP).

Located in Barra do Piraí-RJ, the name Taquara was given by the slaves, due to the abundance of fine bamboo found on the property, which was so named. The house was built, probably in the 1830s, in the shape of a quadrangle with an internal garden, and remains today, under the control of the 5th generation family of Commander João Pereira da Silva.
