A Difficult Woman

During her annual stint as coroner at the public morgue, chief pathologist Anne Harriman is stunned to discover that the body of a murdered woman is her best friend.

Anne conducts further examination of Giselle’s body and fights to stay part of the investigation. Tom tries to tamp down panic at the university about the serial rapist.

During the interrogation of Dominic Martin, Giselle’s lover, Anne learns some upsetting information. New evidence suggests Paul Scanlon is somehow connected to the case.

Anne begins to suspect that Giselle’s conspiracy-like theories may have had some basis in truth. The police set a trap for the rapist that may catch Giselle’s killer.
