Melanie Swadley aka MelanieATL, a lifelong skater in the ATL. Melanie has skated at every level of competition, but these days she embraces the rink simply for herself and as a gift she can pass on to her kids. After stepping away for a while, Melanie recently returned to skating, and her focus is all about fun: learning new styles, pushing herself in fresh ways, and skating purely for the joy of it - not trophies. What makes this episode so special (and hilarious) is that unlike so many of my guests, Melanie had no idea who I was before we hit record. Honestly, I loved it. Neither of us knew much about the other, and that made for one of the most genuine, funny, and authentic conversations I’ve had yet. From her Atlanta skating roots, to her honest perspective on competing, to her journey back to the floor in a social-media-heavy skate world—this conversation is full of laughs, realness, and that ATL skating spirit.
