A policewoman from Nîmes is approaching retirement. She takes a dim view of the arrival of her replacement from Paris. Their methods diverge, but a macabre event forces them to collaborate: an individual lies lifeless near a historical monument, dressed like a gladiator and stabbed with a sword.
