Wokulski returns from Paris to spend the summer in Zasław at the invitation of the Miss President Zasławska. Already present there are Miss Izabela, Kazio Starski, Julian Ochocki, Fela and Ewelina Janocka, Kazia Wąsowska, and Baron Dalski. Seeing that Wokulski enjoys widespread respect and the interest of women, Miss Łęcka slightly changes her attitude toward him and, for the first time, allows him to hope for a shared future. Wokulski leaves happy.
