Aureli's marriage to Drusilla is approaching. But we now know Aureli’s true intentions: to assassinate Caesar during the banquet of the ceremony. He asks for the assistance of Antoni, who, reluctantly and frightened, enters the conspiracy. His desire to become a senator is stronger than his instinct for prudence and Calpurnia encourages him to betray Caesar, only out of ambition.
