Modern Murder
Déjà Vu (1x5)
:
Nine-year old Rico disappears without a trace. Shortly afterwards his body is found by a group of kids in a bag on the banks of the Elbe. Dresden detectives Henni Sieland and Karin Gorniak struggle to cope with the emotional impact of such an horrific crime. The city is in uproar, the media are stoking fear, and everyone wants answers quickly. Their boss Schnabel is surprisingly emotional; he reacts sensitively to the shocking act and to criticism of the police. He publicly bemoans the data privacy laws and the restricted powers of the law enforcement agencies. Sieland and Gorniak try to keep cool heads but they have no good leads in the case. An anonymous call shifts suspicion to Rico's swimming coach Micha Siebert, who is friendly with the young boy's family. When the murdered child's step-father learns of this, he freaks out and attacks Siebert. But then another boy ends up in danger and events threaten to overtake the detectives.
