December 1941. Life in Lisbon changed with the war. A mysterious accident in a wolfram mine brings engineer Siegfried Brenner to the capital. Larenz, a spy in the service of the Third Reich, keeps an eye on the engineer. At the same time, he controls all the steps of Rose Lawson, Maria João's best friend. In the dungeons of the PVDE, suspected of subversive activities, the casapiano Roberto Moisés - father and devoted husband - is interrogated and tortured by agent Paulo.
