In Hand
Episode 2 (1x2)
:
There’s a virus spreading around Tokyo that is not the common flu. The first patient, Akari Kanai, was reported to Takishima General Hospital. The Ministry of Health was not very responsive so the doctors at Tashima Hospital decided to contact Professor Himokura for help in identifying the new strand of virus. Himokura, meanwhile, seems to be mindlessly searching for ticks in a large open field. He takes advantage of his new assistant, Takaie, as both a test subject and an errand boy. Takaie even goes as far as feeding the ticks his own blood to cultivate them. When the new strand of virus turns out to be the Heartland virus which first surfaced in the United States in 2009, it leaves everyone confused on how the victim contracted it in Japan, when she’s never left the country? While that question lingers, 7 more people are sent to the hospital with the same symptoms and the pressure is on to get to the bottom of this outbreak. How did the virus make it to Japan? How is it spreading so fast? How can they stop this before this comes a national emergency?
