A valuable painting is stolen from the church in Läuterberg. The thief was neither Maik nor his brother Kevin, but Pastor Riemer from the neighboring community of Frankenthal. When Maik secretly pursues Riemer to find out whether he has also snatched the golden monstrance, he not only finds the painting again, but also comes across a completely different secret that Pastor Riemer is guarding.
