City Spaces, Human Places (9x9)
:
City Places, Human Spaces aired on November 29, 1981. William H. Whyte's extensive study of city parks and green spaces explains why some parks are lackluster while others seem inviting and pleasant. Whyte's ideas helped to convert some of New York's bleakest squares to active, lively plazas, and proved that cities of any size could transform dreary downtown spaces to welcoming havens.
