Doctors are fighting for Marek's life. At first, it seems he will recover from the surgery – he regains consciousness and talks to his children. Ultimately, Majewski dies. And in his final moments, his wife is not with him. Carmen is left in the hospital by Inspector Żaryn from the Central Bureau of Investigation, who is investigating the attack. The officer informs Majewska that her husband has agreed to cooperate. He claims that Marek was supposed to hand over a flash drive containing evidence against the entire Rota criminal organization – in exchange for his immediate family being placed in the witness protection program. Żaryn desperately tries to find the missing flash drive.
