Matteucci, a collaborator with justice, is about to testify in a trial when his daughter is kidnapped together with Assuntina, the daughter of Marshal Cecchini. The two families therefore find themselves facing a dramatic dilemma: do their duty with justice to the end or worry about the safety of the two girls?
