Mahadev is elated on seeing Parvati's devotion for him. Parvati makes a shivling out of snow and renders the mantra Om Namah Shivay to welcome Agni Dev. Mahadev decides to perform his sadhana along with Parvati. Tarakasur attacks on Devraj Indra and the deities. The deities seek help from Mahadev. Mahadev predicts to the deities that Bhagirath will save them. Bhagirath tries to help deities and save the environment, but in vain.
