Manuel confronts José Luis with evidence that confirms that he is not an Echeñique. While he is tied up in a shed, the owner of the farm refuses to accept the truth. Furious, he yells at Ignacio and Luis Emilio that he does not consider them his children. Later, Manuel surprises Leonor by proposing to her with the rings that his parents once wore. During the night, Leontina manages to free José Luis and both attempt to flee from the Querencia. However, halfway there, the owner of the farm decides to stay on his land, committing a cruel act against the person who helped him escape.
