Sensory panels are great for developing new products, making sure there is consistency among batches of the same product, and gauging how consumers will react to a product. Sensory analysis or sensory evaluation is important in the beverage industry and utilises human beings as instruments to measure attributes of drink products. It is defined as a scientific discipline used to evoke, measure, analyze, and interpret reactions to those characteristics of foods and materials as they are perceived by the senses of sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing.
